Rosemary Maitland-Hume
FLOWER DESIGNER
Rosemary’s experience with meditation has been nothing short of a miracle in her life. She suffered severe early childhood trauma when she lost her beloved Dad and until her late thirties believed she would always be handicapped by feelings of intense anxiety, low confidence and a debilitating sense of abandonment. Her introduction to meditation in 1982 marked the beginning of her new journey into the reality of the heart - where there are no thoughts and where inner balance, inner peace and inner joy bring the mind to harmony and confident self-esteem.
She is a professional freelance flower designer and after retiring from an exciting career, that has taken her to many memorable venues in the UK and abroad, she now shares all her techniques and professional skills with wonderful students who come along to the Rosemary Hume Flower School. She finds that showing others how to handle exquisite natural plant materials with full attention in the present moment gives them a sense of peace, wellbeing and creative self-confidence and this is the ‘hidden agenda’ of her work. She was honoured to win the ‘Edinburgh Flower School of the Year 2020’. Rosemary is blessed with nine grandchildren and a most loving, supportive family
